The PIHL announced its players of the month for January. All three are forwards.

The Class 2A selection is Hempfield senior forward Nino DiPietro, who had eight goals – two on the power play — and three assists across three games. DiPietro is a Saint Vincent commit.

Hempfield (15-3-0-0) is tied with Armstrong (15-2-1-0) for first place.

Eric Hartman of Moon, a junior forward, was the top pick in Class A. He had a goal and nine assists for the Tigers over four games. He has changed positions to give Moon (14-3-1-1) its best chance to win games. The Tigers are in third place in the Blue Division.

Last month’s best player in Division 2 was Morgantown (W. Va.) senior forward Cooper Cox, who put up 18 points – 9 goals, 9 assists – in four games. He had four power play goals. He leads D2 with 55 points on 34 goals and 21 assists.

Morgantown (14-3-1-1) leads the D2 Gold Division with 45 points.
