PIHL names January players of the month

The PIHL announced its players of the month for January. All three are forwards.
The Class 2A selection is Hempfield senior forward Nino DiPietro, who had eight goals – two on the power play — and three assists across three games. DiPietro is a Saint Vincent commit.
Hempfield (15-3-0-0) is tied with Armstrong (15-2-1-0) for first place.
Eric Hartman of Moon, a junior forward, was the top pick in Class A. He had a goal and nine assists for the Tigers over four games. He has changed positions to give Moon (14-3-1-1) its best chance to win games. The Tigers are in third place in the Blue Division.
Last month’s best player in Division 2 was Morgantown (W. Va.) senior forward Cooper Cox, who put up 18 points – 9 goals, 9 assists – in four games. He had four power play goals. He leads D2 with 55 points on 34 goals and 21 assists.
Morgantown (14-3-1-1) leads the D2 Gold Division with 45 points.
A player was not selected in Class 3A.
