Pine-Richland’s Phil Jurkovec among WPIAL football recruits who signed early

The WPIAL’s top football recruits took advantage of the new early signing period Wednesday and inked their National Letters of Intent, including Pine-Richland quarterback Phil Jurkovec who’s headed to Notre Dame.

Pitt added five linemen from the WPIAL, while West Virginia received signed letters from three WPIAL recruits.

Aliquippa safety Kwantel Raines signed with West Virginia, one of three WPIAL recruits to choose the Mountaineers.

East Allegheny tight end TJ Banks is headed to Morgantown

Bethel Park lineman James Gmiter also signed with WVU.

New Castle’s Marcus Hooker signed with Ohio State like older brother Malik a few years ago.

Penn Hills wideout Julian Major signed with Michigan State.

Thomas Jefferon’s Devin Danielson was the first of many WPIAL linemen to sign Wednesday with Pitt.

His Thomas Jefferson teammate Noah Palmer also signed with Pitt.

Temple added two WPIAL recruits: Montour’s Ronnie Stevenson and McKeesport’s Layton Jordan.

North Allegheny lineman Derek Devine is headed to Virginia.

Penn-Trafford lineman Logan Hawkins and Trinity lineman Ben Phillis signed with Akron.

Beaver lineman Bryce Ramer signed with Ohio.

Washington linebacker Isaiah Schoonmaker signed with Miami, Ohio.

Central Catholic quarterback Troy Fisher signs with Lafayette.

Central Catholic’s Tony Young signs with Howard.

Mt. Lebanon defensive lineman Coleman Coco signs with Colgate.

Mt. Lebanon offensive lineman Colby Sorsdal signs with William & Mary.

South Fayette lineman Ray Eldridge signed with Richmond.

Pine-Richland wideout Raymond Falcone signs with Lehigh.
