Pitt gets commitments from pair of top WPIAL linemen

As Pitt football begins a big weekend of hosting prospects on official visits, two of the WPIAL’s finest have made verbal commitments to the Panthers.
Pine-Richland offensive lineman John Curran III and North Allegheny defensive lineman Lincoln Hoke announced their decisions via social media Friday.
Curran is a 6-foot-3, 295-pound rising senior who was first team all-state for the WPIAL Class 5A champs last season. He is rated a three-star recruit and the 48th-best prospect in Pennsylvania by 247sports.com.
He announced an offer from Pitt on Friday morning and made his commitment about 12 hours later.
He had 24 known scholarship offers, including Akron, Buffalo, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Coastal Carolina, James Madison, Marshall, Miami (Ohio) and Ohio.

Hoke, the son of former Steelers defensive lineman Chris Hoke, is a 6-2, 260-pound rising senior. He’s a three-star prospect and the 37th-best recruit in Pennsylvania, according to 247sports.com.
Also a first-team all-star pick, Hoke had 14 known offers, including Akron, Buffalo, James Madison, Kent State, New Mexico, Toledo and West Virginia.

Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi, via social media, indicated Pitt had received four other commitments Friday, but the identity of those players is not yet known.
