Wet weather forced the WPIAL to postpone Wednesday’s scheduled softball championships by a day and move them away from Cal (Pa.).

Rain initially led the WPIAL to delay start times for the Class 4A, 5A and 6A finals while trying to wait out the rain Wednesday at Lilley Field. But the league announced shortly after 2 p.m. that the three title games were postponed.

The Class 6A final between Hempfield and Seneca Valley is set for 11 a.m. Thursday at Norwin. The Class 4A and 5A championship games will be played Thursday at North Allegheny with Hampton taking on Blackhawk at 11 a.m. and Penn-Trafford facing Shaler at 3:30 p.m.

The schedule for the Class 3A, 2A and A finals Thursday at Lilley Field at Cal (Pa.) remains unchanged.

South Park will face Mohawk at noon, Neshannock will take on Chartiers-Houston at 2:15 p.m. and Union will meet Carmichaels at 4:30 p.m.
