Seeds set for WPIAL girls basketball teams headed to state tournament

The Path to the Pete is complete with six WPIAL girls basketball championship games from Pitt’s Petersen Events Center in the books.

Union captured a third straight Class A title and Greensburg Central Catholic won a second straight district crown.

The other four teams — Upper St. Clair in 6A, Peters Township in 5A, Oakland Catholic in 4A and Aliquippa in 2A — are freshly minted winners.

The PIAA girls basketball playoffs begin with first round action Friday and Saturday.

Here is the final order of the 36 WPIAL girls teams that have qualified for the Road to Hershey.
