Seneca Valley athletic director Heather Lewis is the only newcomer voted onto the WPIAL board of directors this year in election results revealed Wednesday.
Nine of the 10 incumbents seeking at-large seats won reelection, each for another one-year term. The results were announced during the WPIAL annual meeting at the DoubleTree in Green Tree.
Returning to the WPIAL board are Hopewell principal Michael Allison, Hempfield principal Kathleen Charlton, Serra Catholic athletic director Bill Cleary, Yough athletic director Tom Evans, Aliquippa principal Alvin Gipson, North Hills superintendent Patrick Mannarino, West Allegheny athletic director Dave McBain, Chartiers Valley assistant superintendent Scott Seltzer and Mt. Pleasant principal Ken Williams.
Mars athletic director Scott Heinhauer was the only incumbent not reelected.
High school administrators from each member school vote for board members.
There are two other administrators joining the board this summer to represent specific constituencies.
Beaver Falls’ Donna Nugent is the WPIAL superintendents representative. Peters Township’s Brian Geyer is joining the board as the WPIAL athletic directors representative.
They will serve two-year terms.
The board voted to keep the same WPIAL officers in place for another year: Seltzer is president, Mannarino is vice president and Allison is treasurer.
