No surprises here: Seneca Valley ace softball pitcher Lexie Hames is headed to a top-tier NCAA program.
The all-state junior fireballer announced Monday she has verbally committed to Clemson of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
The Tigers went 49-12 last season and reached the NCAA Super Regional.
ExtraInningsSoftball.com has Hames in its “Extra Elite 100.” She is ranked No. 34 overall and No. 17 for pitchers in the Class of 2025.

Hames, who attended Clemson’s prospect camp in August, led the Raiders to a runner-up finish in WPIAL Class 6A.
While throwing nearly 70 mph, she struck out 269 batters and walked 32 in 122 innings a year after leading Seneca Valley to a WPIAL title and PIAA silver.
Hames finished 17-2 with a 0.45 ERA and 0.48 WHIP.
The 2023 TribLive HSSN Player of the Year is often just as threatening as a hitter, batting .393 with five home runs, a .738 on-base percentage and 14 RBIs.
She was walked 36 times, most of them intentional.
