Seneca Valley’s Herrera-Rondon named to USA Today all-star team

Seneca Valley sophomore Alejandro Herrera-Rondon was the only WPIAL wrestlers named to the USA Today’s boys wrestling all-Sstar first team.

Herrera-Rondon is a two-time PIAA champion, winning the 113-pound Class AAA title in March. He has won one WPIAL title.

The publication, with the help from TheOpenMat.com website picked three teams. Pennsylvania had six wrestlers, two on each team selected.

The other state wrestler on first team was Cathedral Prep’s Carter Starocci. On the second team were Wyoming Seminary’s Beau Barlett and Bethlehem Catholic’s Ryan Anderson, while Northampton’s Julian Chlebove and Pope John Paul’s Ryan Valakh were named to the third team.
