Neal Shipley went to bed Thursday in a three-way tie for the lead at the Korn Ferry Tour’s Price Cutter Charity Championship in Springfield, Mo.

But because severe weather suspended play at Highland Springs Country Club, when the round was completed on Friday morning, he trailed Chandler Blanchet by a shot.

Blanchet fired his second consecutive 10-under-par 62 and now leads the field by five shots. Blanchet is at 20-under 124.

Shipley, a Mt. Lebanon native, had another solid round, firing a 6-under 66, and he now sits in second place at 15-under 129. Shipley had seven birdies during his round.

With his win last week in Colorado, Shipley needs one more victory this season to earn a “battlefield promotion” and his PGA Tour card.
