Each Wednesday during the regular season, MSA Sports ranked the top seven teams in all four classifications/divisions in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League. With the regular season winding down and the PIHL Penguins Cup Playoffs starting next week, in our final rankings of the season, we rank all 12 AAA, and all 10 AA and A playoff teams as the chase for the cup is set to begin on MSA Sports. WPIAL Basketball Playoff Recaps for Tuesday, February 21st
It was Day Three of the First Round and the bracket busting theme from Friday and Saturday continued Tuesday night. The girls ruled the day at the 2012 WPIAL Individual Rifle Championship Thursday afternoon at the Dormont-Mt. Lebanon Sportsmens Club in Canonsburg. When the 'smoke' cleared, girls claimed the top ten spots, led by Hempfield's Nicole Metz.Metz, the runner-up a year ago, finished with a final total of 200-18x, one of five shooters to register the same score. Metz won the gold because she had six center shots while the other four had five center shots.Girls claiming the top ten spots was a first in WPIAL Individual Rifle history.
