Twelve WPIAL girls soccer teams entered the state playoffs which started Tuesday, and nine are moving on to Round Two this weekend. The curtain was lifted on the 2011 WPIAL Girls Soccer playoffs Saturday afternoon just as the gray skies parted and the sun came out to shine a bit on the action at the pitch. The brackets are out for the 2011 WPIAL Girls Soccer Playoffs that begin on Saturday, October 22nd and continue through to the finals on Supper Soccer Saturday on 11/5/11. For one school, it was a repeat golden performance. For the other, it marks the return to title town for a third time in four years. Shady Side Academy won the WPIAL Girls Team Golf Division I championship on Thursday at the Cedarbrook Golf Club in Belle Vernon again after winning the championship in 2008 and 2009. Under splendid conditions Monday afternoon, the WPIAL held its Girls Team Golf Division I and Division II Semifinals at two different courses. The result was the three team championship field is now set to shoot for gold in both divisions on Thursday, October 13th at the Cedarbrook Golf Club in Belle Vernon.
