WPIAL Softball – 2011 Season Preview

The 2011 WPIAL softball season is set to begin on Friday, March 25th. Two district teams are defending STATE champions in Mount Lebanon and Chartiers-Houston, while the Blue Devils, Montour Spartans, Valley Vikings and Vincentian Academy Royals now begin defense of their WPIAL titles, even though the Vikings have moved up from Class AA to Class AAA.

2010 Terrific 21 Girls Volleyball Class A All-Star Team

The "Terrific 21" Class A Girls Volleyball Player-Of-The-Year and the All-Star Team were selected by the voting of member coaches and Jonathan Whaley, the Creator of the "Terrific 21" Girls Volleyball Program on the MSA Sports Network. The 14 person team is composed of five seniors, six juniors and three sophomores.

Ohio Comes Back to Beat Terrific 21 in First Ever Girls Volleyball All-Star Event

The morning began with the (24) student-athletes (12) players each on the "Terrific 21" Girls Volleyball Program and Ohio District One All-Star teams being honored with an All-Star Breakfast at the Embassy Suites Pittsburgh-International Airport Hotel.

Pine-Richland, Freeport & Frazier Capture 2010 WPIAL Girls Volleyball Championships

A pair of schools are celebrating their first ever WPIAL girls volleyball championships after victories on Saturday at Franklin Regional High School. Frazier in Class A and Freeport in Class AA claimed inaugural hardwood gold while Pine-Richland won the Class AAA crown for the third time in school history and the Rams first title since 2005.

CTK 2010 – WPIAL A BLACK HILLS Conference Preview

Over the last 35 years, the WPIAL Class A football scene has been dominated by two conferences, the Big 7 and the Eastern Conference. From 1975 through 2006, the districts champion came from one of those two conferences. However the tide has turned over the last three years as the Black Hills Conference has laid the claim to being home of the WPIAL Class A champs.
