Don’t look for the trend to stop this season.Ford City and Shady Side Academy are pegged by many coaches as the teams to beat in the Allegheny Conference. A year ago, Ford City finished first and Shady Side Academy fourth.

CTK 2011 – 2010 WPIAL Class AA Football Flashback
South Fayette enjoyed a breakout season in 2009. They went undefeated in the regular season and captured the Class AA Century Conference championship. However their season came to a bitter end in a wild shootout loss to Aliquippa in the WPIAL Quarterfinals. That nightmare finish in 2009 though led to a golden dream season in 2010.

Butler and Freeport are Golden in 2011 WPIAL Girls Track & Field Team Championships

The Butler girls track and field team are the golden girls...again! The Golden Tornado captured back-to-back WPIAL Girls Class AAA Team Track and Field crown by beating Hempfield, Norwin and Butler Thursday afternoon at West Mifflin High School. In the Class AA finals, Freeport took home the gold by beating out Mount Pleasant, Freedom and South Fayette.

WPIAL Baseball – 2011 Season Preview

PIHL Penguin Cup Playoff Recaps for Monday, March 7th

WPIAL Coaching Change – Fox Chapel Football

A familiar name to pro football fans in Western Pennsylvania has been named the new head coach at a WPIAL Class AAAA school. Monday night, former Pittsburgh Steelers player Eric Ravotti was hired by the Fox Chapel School Board to be the Foxes new football coach.

West Allegheny AA Runner-Up in 2010 PIAA Girls Volleyball Playoffs
November 21, 2010
It was a rough state postseason for District 7 teams. Only one WPIAL team survived the first three rounds to qualify for a championship match berth. WPIAL Class AA third-seed West Allegheny made it to the finals, only to fall in three games to District 1 champion Merion Mercy.
