WPIAL Baseball – 2011 Season Preview

While there were no state champions from the district in 2010, Pine-Richland, Hopewell, Beaver Falls and Serra Catholic now begin defense of their WPIAL titles. PIHL Penguin Cup Playoff Recaps for Monday, March 7th

The opening round of the high school hockey playoff began with a big on a bang Monday night in the PIHL. Most of the games played went down to the wire, and in the case of one Class AAA contest, beyond the end of regulation. WPIAL Coaching Change – Fox Chapel Football

A familiar name to pro football fans in Western Pennsylvania has been named the new head coach at a WPIAL Class AAAA school. Monday night, former Pittsburgh Steelers player Eric Ravotti was hired by the Fox Chapel School Board to be the Foxes new football coach.

West Allegheny AA Runner-Up in 2010 PIAA Girls Volleyball Playoffs

It was a rough state postseason for District 7 teams. Only one WPIAL team survived the first three rounds to qualify for a championship match berth. WPIAL Class AA third-seed West Allegheny made it to the finals, only to fall in three games to District 1 champion Merion Mercy.

Highway to Heinz – Quarterfinals Recaps 2010

Pine-Richland, Freeport & Frazier Capture 2010 WPIAL Girls Volleyball Championships
A pair of schools are celebrating their first ever WPIAL girls volleyball championships after victories on Saturday at Franklin Regional High School. Frazier in Class A and Freeport in Class AA claimed inaugural hardwood gold while Pine-Richland won the Class AAA crown for the third time in school history and the Rams first title since 2005.
