Friends of Chick’s Picks held the first annual Pumpkin Carve-nival this week to get in the Halloween spirit.  The Pumpkin Carve-nival, as it had been dubbed, was not your average pumpkin-carving party.  Prizes and pride were on the line, and Chick’s Picks was determined to take home gold in every category.

2011 WPIAL FIELD HOCKEY PLAYOFFS
Three of the four finalists this year have DOMINATED the district field hockey playing field since the sports inception in 1994. Between 2010 champions North Allegheny in AAA, Ellis School in AA and Shady Side Academy, the three programs have won 25 of a possible 31 WPIAL field hockey titles. The other finalist, Penn-Trafford is the new kid on the golden block.

2011 WPIAL GIRLS SOCCER PLAYOFFS – 10/22

Three of the top four seeds in all three classifications are moving on to the Final Four of the district playoffs, but there is one double-digit seed remaining in each of the classifications. #10 North Allegheny in AAA, #13 Elizabeth Forward in AA and #11 Springdale in A are the three bracket busters through the first two rounds.
