CTK 2011 – WPIAL AA CENTURY Conference Preview

The Century Conference has always been one of the most competitive conferences from top to bottom in the WPIAL. Just three years ago, the conference crowned tri-champions in Sto-Rox, Seton-LaSalle and Keystone Oaks. But since winning three of four WPIAL Class AA championships from 2002 through 2005, Century Conference teams had been in a four year title drought until last fall.

CTK 2011 – 2010 WPIAL Class AA Football Flashback

South Fayette enjoyed a breakout season in 2009. They went undefeated in the regular season and captured the Class AA Century Conference championship. However their season came to a bitter end in a wild shootout loss to Aliquippa in the WPIAL Quarterfinals. That nightmare finish in 2009 though led to a golden dream season in 2010.

There are 126 schools in the WPIAL that field a high school football team. While a majority still begin at 7:30pm, 38 of them now kickoff their home games at 7:00pm, including the enire Class AAA Keystone Conference. Shady Side Academy and Sewickley Academy Pairs Golden in 2011 WPIAL Boys Doubles Tennis

In the end, it was worth the wait for the two top-seeds. More than a week after playing the first three rounds of the 2011 WPIAL Boys Doubles Tennis Playoffs, top-seeds Vivek Nimgaokar and Justin Hunt of Shady Side Academy won the Class AAA title while Will Kleeman and Daniel Martchek of Sewickley Academy won gold in Class AA Monday afternoon at Keystone Oaks High School.

Mt. Lebanon Nets AAA Gold While Sewickley Academy Wins 8th Straight WPIAL Boys AA Team Tennis Title

For the first time in 17 years, the Mount Lebanon boys tennis team is celebrating gold. The top-seed Blue Devils edged two-time defending champion Shady Side Academy in a match started Thursday and finished Friday due to rain. It is Mount Lebanon's record 18th WPIAL boys tennis title, but first since 1994.
