PIHL News & Notes: 2010-11 Class A High School Hockey Preview

The 2010-11 PIHL campaign officially begins tonight, so what better way to celebrate than continuing our annual in-depth preview? This week, we take a look at Class A, where Mars will look to defend its state title and capture a third straight Penguins Cup. There will be plenty of teams out to stop the Planets, though.

Serra Freshman Max Kaminsky Wins Inaugural WPIAL Boys D-II Golf Title

At 99 year old Youghiogeny Country Club, the WPIAL Boys Division II Golf Championships were played Wednesday. There were 18 groups that teed off on either the compact front nine or the wide open back nine beginning at 9:00 AM with a total of 56 golfers.

2010 WPIAL Schedules: Girls Tennis

Last fall, Ronit Yurovsky of Plum and Tanya Timko of Chartiers-Houston captured WPIAL Girls Singles Tennis titles while Olivia Heim and Taylor Perz of Pine-Richland and Susie Soltis and Madeline Leo of Greensburg Central Catholic captured WPIAL Girls Doubles Tennis Gold. In Girls Team Tennis, Peters Township and Sewickley Academy were crowned WPIAL champions in 2009.
