During the first four weeks of Saturday high school football in the WPIAL, the schedule has been light and the top performances have been spread out like a modern day offense. However the busiest Saturday of the season to date with a total of eight WPIAL games produced more than a few stars of a gloomy, chilly, wet...and dare I say perfect day for football.Saturdays Scholastic Starz – 09/25/2011

The final Saturday of September in the 2011 high school football season saw two Class AA and three Class A conference tilts. If you do the math, the light schedule gives us a perfect five games to select five top performances. Saturday was one of the lightest days at the district high school football restaurant with only four WPIAL main courses to choose from with a pair of Pittsburgh City League non-conference sides. The lightest Saturday high school football schedule in the WPIAL turned out to be the final Saturday of high school football in the WPIAL. There were only three games to close the books on the district schedule, so it leaves us with only three stars with three strong performances.
