David Manelis, a sophomore on the Fox Chapel diving team, has made the cut for WPIALs. He has been diving for three years and made the switch after being involved in gymnastics.

Here’s a closer look at this week’s Spotlight Athlete:

If you could go somewhere you’ve never been, where would you go?

The Maldives.

If not diving, what sport would you be involved with?

Probably track.

Do you have any pre-dive rituals?

None.

What TV show makes you want to change the channel?

QVC.

What movie could you watch over and over?

Any James Bond movie with Sean Connery.

What is your favorite vacation destination?

Mexico.

Is there a food you refuse to eat?

Brussels sprouts.

What’s your favorite class at school?

Public speaking.

What kind of music do you like?

I like all music.

Who would you like to see disappear from public view?

The Kardashians.

What would make up your favorite all-time meal?

A big steak and rice.

What is your favorite TV show ?

I have two: “Friends” and “Grey’s Anatomy.”

What junk food do you have a weakness for?

Pizza.
