We get the ball rolling on scholastic sports in December by wrapping up the high school football season and continuing with the start of the winter scholastic sports campaign this week on the TribLive High School Sports Network.
Six local high school football teams are headed to the PIAA championships, and Trib HSSN will have the audio stream of the Class 6A state title game Saturday night.
The WPIAL basketball season heads into its first full week with plenty of nonsection matchups, including a girls/boys basketball doubleheader from Upper St. Clair on Friday.
The PIHL feature game this week is a Class 3A showdown Thursday.
Plus, the Rebel Yell podcasts continue with one last football Player of the Week and Team of the Week feature along with the state football championships preview and recap podcasts.
