Trib 10: 1st losses by top teams shake up football power rankings

Hard to believe, but we are knocking on the door of the midway point of the 2025 WPIAL football regular season.

As we prepare for Week 4: There was some shuffling of the deck for teams in the mid to lower range of last week’s Trib 10.

In the big schools, both Thomas Jefferson and Mars tasted defeat for the first time this season and slid down the power rankings. Penn-Trafford suffered its first defeat of the campaign and dropped out.

The Warriors exiting opened the door for Bethel Park to return to the big school Trib 10.

Among the small schools, Elizabeth Forward and Hopewell saw their hopes of a perfect season end, causing them to slide down the Trib 10.

First losses dropped both Laurel and South Park out of the power rankings, allowing South Allegheny and Freeport to debut.

A 57-point victory in its Class 6A opener by Central Catholic and an impressive 27-point triumph for Avonworth over Thomas Jefferson keep the Vikings and Antelopes at No. 1.

Here is the latest Trib 10 big school and small school power rankings with overall recordf and ranking from last week.

These rankings have zero classification boundaries.
