While there was some slight shuffling in both the big school and small school power rankings this week, don’t look for much movement following the first weekend of the WPIAL football playoffs.
More than half of the current teams in the Trib 10 are not in action Halloween night.
Eleven district teams earned first-round or quarterfinal byes and could spend opening night of the postseason doing some scouting or dressing up and going trick or treating.
On the final Friday night of the regular season, only two ranked Allegheny teams tasted defeat.
In the small school power rankings, South Allegheny was stunned by visiting Steel Valley and dropped three spots.
In the big school Trib 10, North Allegheny was shocked by host Seneca Valley and fell out after a second straight loss.
There is one head-to-head battle of ranked teams, and that occurs in the big school Trib 10 where No. 7 Mars visits No. 10 Thomas Jefferson in a 4A quarterfinal showdown.
Here is the latest Trib 10 big school and small school power rankings. Teams are listed with overall record and last week’s ranking.
These rankings have zero classification boundaries.
