A new high school football season brings a change to the traditional Trib 10 power rankings.
In the past, we presented our weekly power rankings for teams in all six district classifications.
However, unlike basketball, baseball and softball where it is easier for teams at small schools to climb the Trib 10 ladder throughout the season, it is a little tougher for the elite small school football teams to head north up the power ranking rungs.
So this year, we are splitting them up to provide more love to more football teams in the WPIAL, big or small.
So welcome to the debut of the “big school” and “small school” power rankings.
Big schools will be teams from Class 6A, 5A and 4A, while the small school rankings will be for teams from 3A, 2A and A.
With no teams winning a PIAA championship from District 7 last fall, a reminder that Central Catholic finished No. 1 in our final 2024 power rankings.
Here are the first Trib 10 big school and small school power rankings for 2025 with the team’s record from last year followed by last year’s final ranking.
These rankings have zero classification boundaries.
