Coming into the final night of the district semifinals Tuesday, both the boys and girls Trib 10 saw two teams fall out of the power rankings, seeing their hopes of WPIAL gold dashed as well.

Then the biggest shoe to fall dropped in a boys Class 5A final four match.

Montour had been at the top of the boys power rankings all season but dropped out for now after losing to Chartiers Valley.

Now the Upper St. Clair boys team moves up to No. 1 heading into the Class 6A title game showdown with No. 3 New Castle on Friday.

The South Fayette girls program remains at No. 1 and is one victory away from a fourth straight WPIAL championship.
