The 10 teams ranked in last week’s HSSN power rankings were a collective 9-1 in Week 4.

However, that one loss was a headline maker.

The No. 1 team throughout the 2023 season lost for the first time in 16 games and suffered its first regular season loss since 2021 when Aliquippa fell at Penn Hills.

The rare Quips loss drops them out of the top spot and opens the door for North Allegheny to take over at No. 1 in this week’s Trib 10.

Expect more changes next week because there are two head-to-head battles of power ranked teams leading the way in Week 5.

The new No. 1 Tigers will face off against No. 8 Central Catholic in a game that will likely determine the 6A regular season champion.

Also, after a dominating nonconference performance by the top five teams in the Class 5A Allegheny Six Conference, they finally start smashing each other, beginning with a showdown at Upper St. Clair when the No. 4 Panthers welcome No. 2 Peters Township.

Here are the latest Trib 10 power rankings. Teams are listed with overall record and last week’s ranking. These rankings have zero classification boundaries.
