The diamond power rankings are back.
Each week this spring, Trib HSSN will rank the Top 10 baseball teams and softball squads without any classification limits.
Before we look at this year’s inaugural rankings, let’s look back at the end of the 2024 season.
In baseball, there were no district teams that won state titles, but North Allegheny in 6A, Penn-Trafford in 5A, North Catholic in 4A and Avonworth and 3A won WPIAL championships.
The 2A and A winners were repeat champions as Seton LaSalle and Bishop Canevin will try to three-peat this spring.
In softball, two WPIAL teams captured PIAA championships with Thomas Jefferson and Neshannock bringing home state gold.
District crowns were captured by Seneca Valley in 6A, Armstrong in 5A, Elizabeth Forward in 4A, Mohawk in 3A and Chartiers-Houston in A.
Neshannock won a third straight District 7 title last year and is out for four in a row this spring.
Here are the first power rankings for the 2025 season. Teams are listed with overall record and last year’s final ranking. These weekly rankings have zero classification boundaries.
