While there were a few bracket busters here and there in the first round of the WPIAL basketball playoffs, only one affected the teams in the Trib 10.

It had been a ho-hum opening round for the District 7 power teams with many receiving first-round byes or rolling past teams they were expected to beat until the final night of Round 1.

Penn-Trafford stunned No. 2 Baldwin and sent the 6A runners-up from a year ago into the offseason with a Tuesday night stunner.

The fun starts over the next week with district quarterfinals and semifinals leading to great challenges and some possible head-to-head clashes on the Path to the Pete.

There were no changes at No. 1 as the Montour boys and South Fayette girls remain on top this week.

Here are the latest Trib 10 power rankings with the overall record and last week’s ranking. These rankings have zero classification boundaries.
