Trib 10: Preseason favorites drop out of weekly power rankings

Two teams with high expectations that began the season ranked No. 1 in their respective classifications have now been bumped out of the power rankings.

Two straight losses by banged-up McKeesport dropped the Tigers out of the big school Trib 10 while a second loss in three games by Steel Valley saw the Ironmen fall out of the small school power rankings.

Those two exits opened the door for Penn-Trafford and South Park to debut.

At the tippy top, Central Catholic remains No. 1 in the big school rankings while Avonworth, fresh off a road win at Class 4A ranked Aliquippa, returns home to host undefeated Thomas Jefferson in a Week 3 district marquee matchup.

Here is the latest Trib 10 big school and small school power rankings with the team’s overall record and last week’s ranking.

These rankings have zero classification boundaries.
