Trib 10: Top teams in power rankings flexing their muscles

Finally, a glorious Friday night weather wise helped the district’s elite add to their win totals.

Nine of the 10 teams from last week’s power rankings were victorious, making for little change across the board this week.

The lone exception was the only team that did not win, as for the first time in two years, Belle Vernon falls from Trib 10 after losing to McKeesport.

The Leopards can make a statement about reentering the Trib 10 this week when they host the team that replaced them, undefeated South Fayette.

So if you are keeping score at home, four of the 10 teams in this week’s power rankings are from the Class 5A Allegheny Six Conference.

Here are the latest Trib 10 power rankings. Teams are listed with overall record and last week’s ranking. These rankings have zero classification boundaries.

1. Aliquippa, 2-0, (1): The Quips visit Penn Hills on Friday on HSSN

2. North Allegheny, 4-0, (2): The Tigers host Norwin on Friday on HSSN

3. Peters Township, 4-0, (3): The Indians visit West Allegheny on Friday

4. Pine-Richland, 3-0, (4): The Rams visit Plum on Friday

5. Upper St. Clair, 4-0, (5): The Panthers visit McKeesport on Friday

6. Montour, 3-0, (6): The Spartans visit Mars on Friday

7. Thomas Jefferson, 4-0, (7): The Jaguars visit West Mifflin on Friday

8. Central Catholic, 2-2, (8): The Vikings visit Hempfield on Friday on HSSN

9. South Fayette, 4-0, (NR): The Lions visit Belle Vernon on Friday on HSSN

10. Fort Cherry, 4-0, (10): The Rangers visit Monessen on Friday on HSSN
