Trib 10: Top teams never gave up No. 1 spot in big school, small school power rankings

From start to finish, Central Catholic and Avonworth never budged from the No. 1 spot in the Trib 10 power rankings.
Even after bookend losses in Week Zero and Week 15 by Central Catholic to Class 6A state champion LaSalle College, the Vikings remained on top in the weekly rankings.
However, the Antelopes were truly the Nation of Domination as they enjoyed a season for the ages that not only produced double gold, but when the dust settled on the 2025 high school football season, they were the only team in the state that finished with a perfect record.
Let’s give a shoutout to Clairton as well, the other double gold-winning team from the WPIAL. The Bears were behind Imani Christian and Fort Cherry in the rankings all season until after they won gold and the Saints and Rangers lost in the WPIAL finals and semifinals respectively.
There were some hits and some misses in our first-time double rankings (big/small) this season, as we visit the preseason Trib 10 power rankings from four months ago.
