Some eyebrow raisers up and down the WPIAL led to some early changes in both the big and small school power rankings heading into Week 1.
In the big school Trib 10, top-ranked Central Catholic lost to District 12 power LaSalle College in Week Zero, but it wasn’t enough to drop the Vikings from the top spot.
However, they face another stiff challenge Friday when they host the current No. 2 team, Pine-Richland.
In fact, another big school nonconference showdown will take place this Friday when No. 4 Peters Township visits No. 5 McKeesport.
In the small school power rankings, while Avonworth won and remains on top, half of the 10 teams lost in Week Zero.
Clairton and Steel Valley dropped a couple of spots but remain ranked. Seton LaSalle, Bishop Canevin and Neshannock were not as fortunate.
Here is the latest Trib 10 big school and small school power rankings. Teams are listed with overall record and last week’s ranking.
These rankings have zero classification boundaries.
