The post-WPIAL playoff edition of the weekly Trib 10 is out with the top six spots filled by the freshly minted district champions.

All six boys basketball winners and five of the six girls basketball champions were in the power rankings leading up to the WPIAL finals at the Pete.

The lone exception was the Aliquippa girls team that knocked off No. 6 Neshannock in the Class 2A finals to win gold for the first time in 35 years.

That wasn’t the only double-digit year championship drought ended in the 2025 district hoops finals.

Oakland Catholic won Class 4A gold for the first time in 19 years, Upper St. Clair girls and Jeannette boys were champions for the first time in 17 years, it’s been 10 years since the Chartiers Valley boys program won it all. The Belle Vernon boys won a district title for the first time in 47 years.

Two boys programs won for the first time ever with South Allegheny and Neighborhood Academy capping off historic championship runs.

The flip side is three schools continued their WPIAL title collection with the Upper St. Clair boys and Greensburg Central Catholic girls repeating while it was a three-peat for the Union girls.

The USC boys remain at No. 1 in the boys power rankings while the Peters Township girls not only ended South Fayette’s four-year reign as WPIAL Class 5A champion, they also replaced the Lions on top of the girls power rankings, making the Indians only the second team all season to reach those lofty heights.

Heading onto the Road to Hershey, here are the latest Trib 10 basketball power rankings with the overall records from this season, followed by where that team was ranked last week.
