Trib 10: WPIAL finalists fill boys, girls power rankings

The stage is set for the WPIAL basketball championships Thursday through Saturday at the Petersen Events Center.

So while there is time for teams that did not reach the district finals to return to the weekly Trib 10 with success in the state playoffs, this is a finalists only edition of the power rankings.

While the likes of Central Catholic, Mohawk, Moon and North Catholic boys, along with Beaver Falls, North Catholic, Indiana and Belle Vernon girls are spectators this weekend, they are also out of the power rankings, hoping to return in a few weeks.

While there were plenty of changes this week, the Upper St. Clair boys and South Fayette girls remain in the top spot as the Panthers hope to three-peat in boys 6A and the Lions look to win their fourth girls 5A title in the last five years.

Here are the latest edition Trib 10 basketball power rankings with overall record and last week’s ranking. These rankings have zero classification boundaries.
