A year ago, five districts earned a piece of the championship pie in Hershey with only District 12 winning multiple PIAA titles.

Cardinal O’Hara won the Class 6A title while Archbishop Wood brought the 5A golden trophy back to the Philadelphia area.

The other four championships went to Blackhawk in 4A from District 7, Lancaster Catholic in 3A from District 3, Kennedy Catholic in 2A from District 10 and Bishop Guilfoyle from District 6 in Class A.

There were two repeat winners with the Golden Eagles flying high to a second straight state title in 2A and the Vikings earning a fourth consecutive PIAA championship in Class 5A.

The first Trib HSSN poll for the 2025 girls basketball season has Central Dauphin in 6A, South Fayette in 5A, Scranton Prep in 4A, Shady Side Academy in 3A, Kennedy Catholic in 2A and Bishop Guilfoyle in A sitting in the pole position, the same place they hope to be in mid-March.
