Unlike the boys side of the state rankings, the elite girls teams have survived the first two rounds and are moving on to the PIAA quarterfinals this weekend.

Both Class 5A and Class A saw two Trib HSSN girls basketball teams from last week’s state rankings lose to fall out and end their season.

However, the other four classifications held service nicely (since the boys tennis season began across the state this week) with only one team falling out and one team entering the top 5.

There was only one change on top and that came in 5A where York Suburban was replaced by Peters Township.

The other five No. 1 teams remain the same with Hazleton in 6A, Scranton Prep in 4A, Loyalsock Township in 3A, Kennedy Catholic in 2A and Bishop Guilfoyle in A remaining on top.
