Trib HSSN Pennsylvania high school football rankings for Dec. 3, 2024

For the most part, the Trib HSSN football rankings held true on state semifinals weekend.
Five of the six top-ranked teams were victorious and will be playing for a PIAA championship this week in Mechanicsburg.
The lone exception was in Class A where No. 1 Fort Cherry lost big to District 9 champion Port Allegany.
The No. 2-ranked teams also enjoyed success, going a combined 4-2. The lone exceptions were Pine-Richland in 5A and Danville in 3A, which both lost to top-ranked teams.
There will be state title games Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Chapman Field at Cumberland Valley.
Here are the latest Trib HSSN rankings. Teams are listed with overall record, last week’s ranking and district.
Class 6A
1. St. Joseph’s Prep (10-2) (1) (D-12): The defending PIAA 6A champion Hawks defeated No. 4 Downingtown West in Week 14, 36-7. They play No. 2 Central Catholic in the PIAA state championship game on Saturday.
2. Central Catholic (12-2) (2) (D-7): The Vikings defeated No. 3 Harrisburg in Week 14, 38-33. They play No. 1 St. Joseph’s Prep in the PIAA state championship game on Saturday.
3. Harrisburg (11-3) (3) (D-3): The Cougars lost to No. 2 Central Catholic in Week 14, 38-33. Their season is over.
4. Downingtown West (13-2) (4) (D-1): The Whippets lost to No. 1 St. Joseph’s Prep in Week 14, 36-7. Their season is over.
5. West Lawn Wilson (11-2) (5) (D-3): The Bulldogs’ season is over.

Class 5A
1. Bishop McDevitt (13-2) (1) (D-3): The Crusaders defeated No. 2 Pine-Richland in Week 14, 28-14. They play No. 2 Roman Catholic in the PIAA state championship game on Friday.
2. Roman Catholic (11-4) (3) (D-12): The Cahillites defeated No. 4 West Chester Rustin in Week 14, 41-17. They play No. 1 Bishop McDevitt in the PIAA state championship game on Friday.
3. Pine-Richland (11-2) (2) (D-7): The Rams lost to No. 1 Bishop McDevitt in Week 14, 28-14. Their season is over.
4. West Chester Rustin (13-2) (4) (D-1): The Golden Knights lost to No. 3 Roman Catholic in Week 14, 41-17. Their season is over.
5. Peters Township (11-2) (5) (D-7): The Indians’ season is over.

Class 4A
1. Lampeter-Strasburg (14-0) (1) (D-3): The Pioneers defeated No. 3 Thomas Jefferson in Week 14, 20-16. They play No. 2 Monsignor Bonner-Archbishop Prendergast in the PIAA state championship game on Thursday.
2. Monsignor Bonner-Archbishop Prendergast (11-2) (2) (D-12): The Friars defeated No. 4 Southern Lehigh in Week 14, 55-26. They play No. 1 Lampter-Strasburg in the PIAA state championship game on Thursday.
3. Thomas Jefferson (14-1) (3) (D-7): The Jaguars lost to No. 1 Lampeter-Strasburg in Week 14, 20-16. Their season is over.
4. Southern Lehigh (12-3) (4) (D-11): The Spartans lost to No. 2 Monsignor Bonner-Archbishop Prendergast in Week 14, 55-26. Their season is over.
5. Pope John Paul II (12-2) (5) (D-1): The Golden Panthers’ season is over.

4. Penn Cambria (14-1) (3) (D-6): The Panthers lost to No. 4 Avonworth in Week 14, 16-6. Their season is over.

4. Taylor Riverside (13-2) (4) (D-2): The Vikings lost to No. 1 Troy in Week 14, 35-14. Their season is over.
5. Cambria Heights (13-1) (5) (D-6): The Highlanders’ season is over.
