The high school football regular season is in the rearview mirror and the new focus becomes the district playoffs.

Some of the district tournaments will continue for the next three or four weeks; others will conclude as early as next week.

The district postseason sets the field for the PIAA playoffs with teams from all 12 of the state’s districts trying to reach the final destination, Cumberland Valley in early December.

As we prepare for November football, four teams fell out of this week’s Trib HSSN rankings, including Manheim Township in 6A, Strath Haven in 5A, Wyomissing in 4A and Taylor Riverside in 2A.

Those vacancies opens up a spot in the Top 5 for West Lawn Wilson in 6A, Pine-Richland in 5A, Thomas Jefferson in 4A and Seton LaSalle in 2A.

There was plenty of movement at the top of the rankings this week as well with Chester replacing Bishop McDevitt in 5A, Lampeter-Strasburg taking over for Monsignor Bonner-Archbishop Prendergast in 4A and Fort Cherry bumping Bishop Guilfoyle from No. 1 in Class A.

The other three classifications remain the same at the top with LaSalle College in 6A, Northwestern Lehigh in 3A and Troy in 2A hanging on to No. 1.
