Sierra Dupre, a sophomore at Upper St. Clair High School and a Riverhounds Development Academy player, will get the opportunity to represent the United States on the U16 Women’s National Team for their UEFA Friendship Tournament this week in Riva, Turkey.

She and her American teammates will play four matches in the tournament starting Thursday. The tournament wraps up April 18.

The U.S. is a part of Pool A with Turkey, Vietnam and Botswana.

The tournament will conclude with a placement match against a member of Pool B: China, Paraguay, Uganda or Wales.

Dupre’s overseas trip is her second with a U.S. national team.

Last year, she traveled with the U15 for friendly matches in both Germany and The Netherlands. She was a part of a victory against the Dutch team.

Dupree was called to U16 camp in February in Chula Vista, Calif., and trained with her national teammates.

That camp performance helped her secure her spot on the 20-player roster for the Friendship Tournament. She was selected by U.S. coach Patchy Toledo.

Dupre plays a year up on the Riverhounds 2007 Elite Clubs National League Girls team coached by Scott Gibson.

She began in the Riverhounds’ Futures Program a decade ago and has continued in the program since then.

Dupre is the second player trained in the Riverhounds Development Academy to represent the U.S. this year.

Tessa Dellarose, a Brownsville graduate and North Carolina sophomore, a 2022 Academy alum, played for the U.S. U20 National Team last week in matches against Germany and Canada.
