Northgate/Avonworth Boys Swim Team Working on 5th Undefeated Regular Season
After winning the WPIAL AA Swimming and Diving Championship in 2018 and finishing second last year, the Northgate/Avonworth Boys Swim Team has their sights set on winning their second Championship this year. They will also be looking to record their school record 5th consecutive undefeated section championship. They took the first step last Thursday defeating Highlands 72-23.
This year’s team is deep and experienced and will be led by a number of returning WPIAL and PIAA qualifiers including Seniors Luke Tomczak, Luke Wagner and Ryan McFarland, Juniors Cooper Groll, Clark Bernauer, Hugo Eadie and Grahm Herzig and Sophomores Andrew Baldauff and Nathaniel Hardiman. The team will also be counting on Jeramia Georges, Gavin Mee, Jacob Chestnut and strong group of Freshman that includes Matthew Purcell, Jack Blaser, Alambir Goraya, Ryan Ehmann and Henry Wagner.
The boys will next be in action on Thursday, January 9th at home against Springdale.
