Winner plays: Winner of 1-Serra Catholic (17-3)/8-Jefferson-Morgan (14-3) on Wednesday in the semifinals (time, site TBD)

Players to watch: Anthony Grippo, Greensburg Central Catholic; Jackson Maddix, Bishop Canevin

Extra bases: GCC junior Tyler Samida pitched a five-inning no-hitter in a 14-0 win over Sewickley Academy in the first round. The Centurions scored 10 runs in the first inning. Grippo drove in six runs, including a grand slam. Grippo is hitting over .600. … The Crusaders shut out Rochester, 5-0, in the first round. Bishop Canevin sophomore outfielder Maddix has a .511 batting average. Freshman catcher Nate Astor is hitting. 439. Senior pitcher Kole Olszewski is batting .500 with 27 hits, 23 runs and 16 RBIs. He also has a 2.20 ERA.
