Westmoreland County high school football players to watch for 2024 Week 11

Tasso Whipple

Penn-Trafford, sr., RB/LB

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound senior rushed for 148 yards and a touchdown to help the Warriors to a 49-28 WPIAL Class 5A first-round win over South Fayette. Whipple also returned an interception 46 yards for a touchdown.

Players to watch

Landon Honick

Greensburg Central Catholic, jr., WR/DB

The 5-foot-11, 165-pound junior had six catches for 122 yards and three touchdowns as the Centurions defeated Monessen, 54-38, in the opening round of the WPIAL playoffs. The scores were for 31, 24 and 22 yards.

Matt Moore

Franklin Regional, jr., S

The 5-foot-10, 150-pound junior has been a standout in the Panthers secondary. He has 65 tackles, two interceptions and seven passes defensed. He helped the Panthers upset North Hills in a WPIAL Class 5A first-round game.

Wyatt Schaeffer

Jeannette, jr., OL/DL

The 5-foot-10, 238-pound junior had six tackles and two quarterback sacks to help the Jayhawks to a 23-7 upset of No. 4 Neshannock. He also plays center and helped open running lanes for quarterback Kymon’e Brown.
