Westmoreland County high school football players to watch for 2024 Week 5

Player of the week

Kyle Dupill

Franklin Regional, sr., RB

The 5-foot-7, 189-pound senior rushed for 211 yards and two touchdowns as the Panthers defeated Gateway, 36-34, last Friday. He has rushed for 783 yards and seven touchdowns this season. The Panthers host Kiski Area on Friday night in a key Class 5A Big East Conference clash.

Players to watch

Jackson Huss

Norwin, sr., RB/DB

The 5-10, 175-pound senior has been valuable on both sides of the ball. He’s rushed for 111 yards and has three catches for 21 yards. He has scored one touchdown. Norwin will host North Hills on Friday in a nonconference test.

Cole Savage

Greensburg Salem, sr., DT/G

The 5-11, 235-pound senior is a diligent two-way player who helps control the line of scrimmage for the Golden Lions. Greensburg Salem started the season 4-0 before a loss to Ambridge last week. He knows the game well and is good at adjusting on the fly.

John Wetzel

Latrobe, sr., QB/LB

The 6-foot, 185-pound senior helped lead the Wildcats to a win against Armstrong last Friday. He scored on a 34-yard run. This season, the Marshall commit has403 rushing yards and four touchdowns for the Wildcats, who will host Woodland Hills in a Big East matchup Friday night.
