Westmoreland County high school football players to watch for 2024 Week 7

Player of the Week
Samir Crosby
Greensburg Central Catholic, Jr., QB/DB
The 5-foot-8, 157-pound junior rushed for 150 yards and scored three touchdowns and completed 10 of 16 passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns in helping the Centurions defeat rival Jeannette. Crosby outdueled good friend Kymone Brown, who also had a huge game.
Players to Watch
Ethan Shawley
Southmoreland, Sr., RB/LB
The 5-foot-11, 200-pound senior has rushed for 320 yards and scored six touchdowns and has four catches for 103 yards and a score. On defense, he’s a ballhawk. He has 73 tackles, including 28 solo and three sacks.
Hunter Carr
Ligonier Valley, Sr., TE/LB
The 5-foot-10, 214-pound senior has a motor that doesn’t stop, according to coach Roger Beitel. He’s also one of the hardest workers on the team and is very aggressive. He plays both ways and is on every special teams unit.
Nick Mendoza
Jeannette, Jr., RB/ILB
The 5-foot-10, 170-pound junior has rushed for 143 yards and a touchdown. He also has 25 solo tackles and two quarterback sacks. He has 31 total tackles.
