Westmoreland County high school football players to watch for 2025 Week 2

Player of the Week
Samir Crosby
Greensburg Central Catholic, Sr., WR/QB/DB
Crosby put on quite a show against Mt. Pleasant. The senior rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns, caught eight passes for 122 yards and a score and had a 50-yard punt return to set up the game’s first score to lead Greensburg Central Catholic to a 40-7 victory. He also played quarterback and completed a pass.
Players to watch
Brody Chismar
Greensburg Salem, Jr., QB/DB
Chismar helped lead the Golden Lions to a 14-12 victory against Ligonier Valley. He threw for 173 yards and two touchdowns. He has thrown three touchdown passes and rushed for a team-high 114 yards and scored one touchdown this season.
Nick Ponko
Penn-Trafford, Jr., WR/DB
A three-year starter as a wide receiver, he caught eight passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns against Mt Lebanon. He also blocked two extra points. He has nine catches for 162 yards.
Carter Strayer
Mt. Pleasant, Sr., OT/DT
The 6-foot-5, 250-pound tackle is a key piece to the Vikings running game. He also anchors a defensive line that helped the Vikings contain Jeannette’s speed in Week Zero.
