Westmoreland County high school football players to watch for 2025 Week 6

Player of the week

Dom Detruf

Hempfield, Sr., QB

The Spartans’ signal-caller had a career game last Friday. He completed 26 of 34 passes for 346 yards and four touchdowns in a 38-27 victory against Canon-McMillan. This season, he has completed 88 of 120 passes for 1,258 yards and 14 touchdowns with six interceptions. He and the Spartans will head to Norwin for a Class 6A showdown Friday night.

Players to the watch

Chace Petrosky

Belle Vernon, Jr., RB

The junior had a breakout game for the Leopards against Thomas Jefferson last week, rushing for 123 yards. He has scored one touchdown this season. The Leopards will head to Chartiers Valley on Friday night.

Majhi Sanders

Jeannette, Jr., ILB/DE

Sanders has made 37 tackles this season, including four tackles for loss. He also has recorded three sacks. The Jayhawks will host rival Greensburg Central Catholic on Friday.

Kaden Weiers

Derry, So., WR/S

The sophomore has 10 catches for 115 yards this season. Weiers also has two interceptions and returns kicks on special teams. The Trojans will play at Elizabeth Forward in an Interstate showdown Friday.
