Player of the week
Gregory Sleasman
Ligonier Valley, Jr., WR/DB
Sleasman became the first Ligonier Valley player to return two interceptions for touchdowns in the same game when he completed the feat last Friday as the Rams defeated Charleroi, 67-13. He returned one 32 yards and the other 72 yards. He became the eighth player in school history to have a pair of interceptions in a game. He also broke up a pass. The Rams will host South Park in a Class 2A Allegheny Conference game this week.
Players to watch
Christian Brodak
Mt. Pleasant, Jr., OT/NG
Brodak has helped the Vikings’ ground game and is a disruptive force on defense. He plays a physical game and is dependable for Mt. Pleasant, which will head to Southmoreland for an Interstate Conference clash Friday.
Tyrese Lewis
Greensburg Salem, Sr., WR/DB
Lewis has 13 catches for 266 yards and four touchdowns. He also has 29 tackles and an interception on defense. Greensburg Salem will host Derry in an Interstate Conference game Friday night.
Landyn Stikkel
Penn-Trafford, Jr., RB/LB
Stikkel is one of the Warriors’ most versatile players. Because of injuries, he has played four positions on offense and three on defense. He has rushed for 127 yards and a score and has three catches for 71 yards and a touchdown. He also leads the team with 46 tackles (24 solo). Penn-Trafford plays at Franklin Regional in a Big East Conference game Friday.
