Westmoreland County high school football players to watch for 2025 Week 9

Player of the week

Jayce Powell

Jeannette, Jr., WR/DB

The Jayhawks junior scored three touchdowns against Springdale. He caught two touchdown passes (12 and 73 yards) and had a 40-yard punt return. He has 37 catches for 784 yards and eight touchdowns. He has 363 return yards with one touchdown.

Players to watch

Grayson Daugherty

Ligonier Valley, So., WR/DB

The sophomore is the team’s leading receiver. He has 30 catches for 409 yards and four touchdowns. He has 17 tackles, one tackle for a loss, caused a fumble and blocked a field goal.

Rodney Johnson

Monessen, Sr, TE/DE

One of the Greyhounds’ top defenders. He has 42 tackles, four forced fumbles, 18 tackles for loss and six quarterback sacks.

Ryan Sarver

Yough, Sr., WR/DB

The senior two-year captain has 29 catches for 346 yards and four touchdowns. He has a 60-yard kickoff return, 29 tackles, three interceptions and has knocked away five passes.
