Player of the week
Kymon’e Brown
Jeannette, Sr., QB/DB
Brown rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown and threw for 138 yards and a TD to Jayce Powell in helping Jeannette defeat Bentworth, 38-24, in a WPIAL Class A playoff game. Brown has completed 80 of 166 passes for 1,494 yards and 15 touchdowns. He has rushed for 878 yards and scored 16 touchdowns. He also intercepted a pass.
Players to watch
Lucah Butler
Penn-Trafford, Sr., OT/LB
Butler has been a two-way starter for the past two seasons. He has 57 tackles, 29 solo, and one tackle for loss. He has one sack and recovered two fumbles. Penn-Trafford has rushed for more than 2,000 yards and thrown for 1,618 yards.
Jake Knight
Norwin, Sr., WR/DB
Knight has 11 catches for 193 yards and three touchdowns. He has 24 tackles and has intercepted two passes and broken up two passes. He caught a touchdown pass against North Allegheny.
McAlister Steele
Jeannette, Jr., LB/K/WR
Steele booted his eighth field goal of the season last week against Bentworth. It was 34 yards on the final play of the first half. He has also made 36 extra points. His blocked punt helped Jeannette break open a close game.
