Players to watch: Cam Kapr, Mt. Pleasant; Ari Bosh, Quaker Valley

What’s at stake: The winner gets third in the WPIAL and advances to the PIAA playoffs, and the loser’s season is over.

Throw-ins: Mt. Pleasant moved into the consolation game with a 2-0 loss to nemesis Burrell in the semifinals. Burrell has ended the Vikings’ season five times in seven years. Mt. Pleasant’s last state playoff appearance was in 2022. It defeated Bedford (2-0) and Fort LeBoeuf (1-0) before falling to General McLane (3-0) in the semifinals. Morgan Gesinski, a Robert Morris commit, leads Mt. Pleasant with 29 goals. Gesinski, Caitlyn Fullman, Raygan Mizikar and goalie Laurel Rummel are all-WPIAL selections. … Quaker Valley fell to Freeport, 2-0, in the semifinals. The Section 3 champion Quakers have outscored teams 69-6. Their other losses are to Pine-Richland (1-0) and South Fayette (2-0). They clobbered Southmoreland, 11-0, in the first round, scoring nine goals after halftime. Bosh, Emma Currier and Annabel Miko are all-WPIAL players.
