Westmoreland high school roundup: Shoaf leads Yough to 1st victory

Dustin Shoaf ran 30 times for 277 yards and all three of Yough's touchdowns to lead the Cougars to their first victory, a 21-6 triumph over Waynesburg (0-4, 0-4) in a WPIAL Class 3A Interstate Conference football game Friday night.
Shoaf has rushed for 885 yards this season.
Beaver Falls 49, Southmoreland 7 — Dayln Brickner ran for 161 yards and three touchdowns, threw for two more TDs and converted all seven of his extra-point attempts as Beaver Falls (1-3) downed Southmoreland (0-4) in nonconference play.
Jaden Datz scored on a 1-yard run for Southmoreland.
Mt. Pleasant 44, Brownsville 7 — Michael Govern ran for two touchdowns as Class 3A Mt. Pleasant (2-3) scored 38 first-half points in its win over Class 2A Brownsville (1-4).
Cody Reese and Lucas Pieszak added touchdown runs, and Ryan Quinn caught a 27-yard TD pass from Pieszak. Brayden Gibbons returned a fumble 10 yards for a score.
Ligonier Valley 65, United 0 — Jackson Daugherty completed three passes — all to Aaron Tutino — for 124 yards and three touchdowns as Ligonier Valley (5-0, 5-0) blanked United (2-3, 2-3) in the Heritage Conference. Daugherty added a 21-yard touchdown run.
Girls soccer
Jeannette 2, Geibel 1 — Dymond Crawford had two goals to lift Jeannette (1-5) to a nonsection win.
Boys golf
Greensburg Central Catholic 204, Geibel 252 — Jake Skoloda shot 2-over par 26 and Zach Boote shot 39 as Greensburg Central Catholic (10-1) won in Section 2-AA.
